About Us
The Story
Inspired by a passion for design and entrepreneurship, Ixora was born out of a desire to connect to my roots. I grew up in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands where my family had a retail fine jewelry store for 15 years and has now been in the jewelry business for over 30 years. Growing up behind the store counter, I developed a love for jewelry from a young age. Whether it was hand-making my own pieces or helping my father choose the best designs, jewelry gave me confidence and allowed me to express myself. My passion to bring this feeling to others while also creating something of my own has fueled my desire to offer unique and elegant designs while adhering to the traditions and identity of the islands.
Giving Back
The connectedness of people and the planet has never been more evident. At the front line of climate change, the ocean, the coastlines and marine ecosystems are being disproportionately impacted. At Ixora, we believe it’s our duty to give back to our Mother Earth which breathes life into us all.
Coral Restoration and Sea Turtle Rescue & Conservation
We are proud partners with Coral World Ocean & Reef Initiative (CWORI), a nonprofit organization in St. Thomas working towards coral reef education, research and conservation. Coral World also serves as a rehabilitation center for turtles and hatchlings before reintroducing them into the wild. A portion of each sale will go directly towards these efforts and we hope that as we grow our donations can make a significant impact in the overall healing of our environment.
Pricing & Quality
Wearing unique luxury pieces shouldn’t break the bank. By cutting out big manufacturers and hefty retail prices, we are able to offer fair pricing directly to the consumer.
All of our jewelry is the highest quality .925 Sterling Silver coated with an anti-tarnish finish. Our gold vermeil jewelry, or gold-plated, consists of a thick layer of 14K gold over sterling silver.
Our designer rings from the original Amalie Collection have an even thicker coating with 3 microns of 14K gold as opposed to the industry standard of 1.5 microns and 10K gold. This ensures that each piece is made to last.
